PHUKET: The island of Phuket rolled out the red carpet for contestants of the Miss Universe Thailand 2025 pageant, hosting a glamorous ‘White Pearl Welcome Party’ on Saturday (Aug 9). The celebration also marked the official launch of the new Kora Beach Resort Phuket at Layan Beach, Cherng Talay.
The twin celebrations drew Phuket Vice Governor Suwit Pansengiam, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office Director Siriwan Singharaj, resort Managing Director Korntip Riankrai, Miss Universe Phuket 2025 Director Teerasak Phonngam, hotel executives, partners, and contestants from across the nation.
Vice Governor Suwit expressed that Phuket was honoured to host the Miss Universe Thailand 2025 contestants. He noted that the pageant, combined with the resort’s launch, offered a unique opportunity to showcase Phuket’s natural beauty and cultural charm to both domestic and international visitors.
“This event is an important opportunity to promote the province as a tourism destination on the global stage,” he said.
A luxury resort inspired by the ocean
Located on Layan Beach, Kora Beach Resort Phuket is inspired by the ocean in its architectural design and offers 5-star service standards. The property aims to become a top destination for travellers from around the world.
During the opening ceremony, Ms Korntip presented a B20,000 scholarship to Phuket Province, which was received by Vice Governor Suwit.
The event followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Team Phuket, led by Mr Teerasak, and the resort. This agreement confirmed the property as the official accommodation sponsor for Miss Universe Thailand 2025, as well as for the 74th Miss Universe competition set for November.
Global spotlight on Phuket
From Nov 8–12, Phuket will host over 130 contestants from around the globe for a series of activities ahead of the Miss Universe final, showcasing the island to an international audience.
The Miss Universe Thailand 2025 Phuket events will take place from Aug 9–16 at the Angsana Convention and Exhibition Space, with four main shows open to the public:
