Late-night head-on crash rocks Pattaya
A serious road accident shakes Pattaya in the early hours of October 5, 2025. A white Isuzu D-Max pickup veers into oncoming traffic on Soi Phonpraphanimit 7 and slams head-on into a white Mazda 3. The impact leaves both vehicles badly damaged and sparks a major emergency response.
Police from Nongprue station rush to the scene. Rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya arrive to find chaos. The pickup blocks the right lane, while the Mazda sits crumpled at the roadside.
Four injured as rescue teams race to help
Inside the pickup, a Thai man around 40, who declines to give his name, suffers minor injuries. His female passenger complains of chest pain after the crash.
In the Mazda, 45-year-old driver Ms. Sujanya receives a deep cut on her arm. Her passenger escapes with lighter wounds. Medics treat all four at the scene before taking them to a nearby hospital.
Driver blames unfamiliar Pattaya street
The pickup driver tells police he had just left a social event and did not know the road. He admits this confusion led him to swerve into the wrong lane, causing the collision.
Mazda driver Sujanya describes the moment: “I was driving normally in my lane when the pickup suddenly appeared in front of me. I had no time to react.” Police now examine both accounts as they investigate.

Police probe cause of Pattaya crash
Officers from Nongprue meticulously document the scene. They measure skid marks and check the final positions of both vehicles. Investigators focus on whether the pickup driver may have been under the influence, though he does not mention alcohol in his first statement.
Both drivers will be called in for further questioning. If tests reveal the pickup driver was impaired, he could face serious charges.
Nighttime accidents haunt Pattaya streets
Pattaya’s narrow sois and sharp bends see frequent late-night crashes. Police warn that tired or intoxicated drivers are often to blame. “Too many ignore the dangers of driving after drinking,” an officer says.
Both vehicles are now impounded. If the investigation confirms negligence, the pickup driver could be charged with reckless injury.
