Pet Lion Attack Leaves Thai Influencer Facing Jail and Huge Fine

Influencer’s Pet Lion Attack Shocks Kanchanaburi

A dramatic incident in Kanchanaburi puts social media influencer Parinya, 32, at the centre of a legal storm. His pet lion escapes from its enclosure and attacks two people, including an 11-year-old boy. Now, Parinya faces up to six months in jail and a heavy fine.

The attack takes place on Saturday in the Bo Phloi District. The lion, kept as a pet by Parinya, bites and scratches young Arthit, leaving wounds on the boy’s right hip. The animal also injures Sarawut, 43, who suffers leg scratches requiring four stitches.

Both victims receive medical attention. Arthit is taken to Surasi Military Camp Hospital and is now stable. Sarawut returns home after treatment. Yet, the trauma from the attack may linger for both.

Warning Came Too Late for Influencer Parinya

Just a day before the incident, Thailand’s National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department issues a written warning. Officials instruct Parinya to reinforce the lion’s cage. But the warning proves too late.

Attapol Charoenchansa, the department’s director, confirms the lion is now in state custody. Parinya is under investigation for allowing a controlled wild animal to escape. “We have taken the lion into care,” says Charoenchansa.

Jail and Heavy Fine Loom Over Social Media Star

Under Thailand’s 2019 wildlife protection law, Parinya could face up to six months in jail, a fine of 50,000 Baht, or both. He must also pay all costs for the lion’s care at the Bueng Chawak Wildlife Breeding Centre in Suphan Buri.

When officers search Parinya’s home, they find the lion chained inside a room. Authorities are now negotiating the formal transfer of the animal. The investigation will determine whether the lion broke out, escaped its restraints, or was released on purpose.

Parinya’s Online Fame Now in Jeopardy

Parinya is a well-known influencer with a large following across multiple platforms. His videos featuring the lion attract huge audiences. But this popularity may now backfire.

Investigators are focusing on how the lion managed to escape. The outcome could impact Parinya’s sentence and his reputation. “We need to know exactly what happened,” an official states.

A lengthy legal process now begins for Parinya. His once-glamorous image faces serious damage. Meanwhile, the lion starts a new chapter at a wildlife centre—far from the spotlight of social media.
