Horror as Couple Plunge from Sriracha Bridge
A Myanmar husband and wife are lucky to be alive after their motorbike plunges ten metres from an overpass in Sriracha. The pair survive against all odds—thanks to nothing but a patch of soft, muddy ground.
It’s a scene straight from a nightmare. The couple’s bike sails off the Bo Yang overpass in Moo 9, near Chonburi’s entrance, just after 3pm on October 1, 2025. In seconds, their world is turned upside down.
Race Against Time: Rescue Crews Rush In
Emergency teams from Sawang Prateep Sriracha and the “Lanthom” ambulance speed to the scene. Police from Nong Kham station join them.
They find the couple sprawled in the grass at the roadside. Mr. Zaw Pola Phaye, 33, is battered but conscious, clutching his stomach in pain. His wife, Ms. Nan Wey, 42, lies critically injured.

Husband’s Agony: “Please Save My Wife!”
Mr. Zaw is inconsolable. Tears stream down his face as he blames himself for the crash. “Please save my wife!” he begs rescuers, voice shaking.
Medics work frantically. They suspect Ms. Nan Wey has spinal injuries and a broken right arm. All the while, they try to calm her distraught husband.
Wreckage and Clues: The Scene Tells Its Tale
Up on the overpass, police spot the couple’s grey-orange Honda Scoopy, toppled on its side. Scattered nearby: a single shoe and a plastic bag of school milk—silent witnesses to the chaos.
It’s a stark reminder of how quickly lives can change.

Eyewitness: “It Happened So Fast”
Security guard Mr. Bun Ting Arunphas hears the crash. He rushes over, stunned. “At first, I didn’t realise people had fallen. It happened so fast,” he recalls.
He’s quick to act, calling emergency services and warning Mr. Zaw not to move his wife. That decision may have saved her life.
Wrong Turn, High Speed: How Disaster Struck
Later, Mr. Zaw explains what went wrong. The couple are on their way to work, but he’s unfamiliar with the route. He mistakes the horseshoe-shaped overpass for a straight road and speeds ahead.
He can’t brake in time for the curve. The bike slams into a concrete barrier, hurling them both over the edge. Police confirm: unfamiliar roads and excessive speed are to blame.
Muddy Miracle: Soft Ground Spares Their Lives
It’s the soft, grassy verge below that saves them. Had they landed on the concrete, doctors say, the outcome would have been fatal.
Instead, the couple’s incredible luck turns a disaster into a modern-day miracle. For now, hope remains—will Ms. Nan Wey pull through?
