Blaze Tears Through RCA, Bangkok’s Entertainment Hub
A massive fire breaks out in Bangkok’s famous Royal City Avenue (RCA) nightlife district. The blaze engulfs a restaurant, sending thick black smoke billowing over the city. Firefighters rush to the scene, battling intense flames right next to the popular Route 66 nightclub.
Firefighters Race to Contain RCA Inferno
At 17:11 on October 6, emergency services receive a call: a restaurant on Soi Sun Wichai-Rama 9 in Huai Khwang is ablaze. Several fire crews respond immediately, working to bring the fire under control.
Videos shared by Fire & Rescue Thailand on Facebook show flames devouring the building. One firefighter is seen inside with an extinguisher, but the fire spreads too quickly to stop.

Route 66 Nightclub Faces Danger as Smoke Spreads
The burning restaurant sits directly beside Route 66, one of RCA’s best-known nightclubs. Some Thai media suggest the restaurant might be part of the club complex, but officials have not confirmed this.
Thick smoke is visible for kilometers, hanging over Bangkok’s skyline. Social media fills with dramatic images of the smoke cloud. Thankfully, no injuries are reported. It remains unclear how many workers or guests were inside when the fire started.
RCA District No Stranger to Fires
This is not the first fire in Bangkok’s RCA area. In 2018, a blaze at App Arena bar spread to several parked cars before firefighters contained it within 30 minutes.
Back in 2016, another fire destroyed 20 rooms in a workers’ dormitory linked to an RCA construction project. The cause was never determined, but again, no one was hurt.
Cause of Bangkok RCA Fire Remains Unknown
Authorities have not yet identified the cause of the current fire. Investigators are still working to determine whether a technical fault, negligence, or another factor sparked the blaze. The name of the affected restaurant has not been officially released.
Officials promise a thorough investigation. Fire crews will examine the scene closely to find answers and help prevent future incidents.
Shockwaves for Bangkok’s Nightlife Scene
RCA is a vibrant center of Bangkok’s nightlife, packed with clubs, bars, and restaurants. A fire here is especially alarming, given the crowds that gather every night.
As investigations continue, many in Bangkok’s nightlife community are left shaken, hoping for answers—and for safety to return to RCA.
