Fire Contained at Bangkok High-Rise Hotel, No Injuries Reported

BANGKOK, Thailand — A fire broke out in a hotel room on the 11th floor of a high-rise in Bangkok’s Phra Khanong district on October 10, prompting a rapid emergency response and the evacuation of guests and staff. The incident, which occurred around 3 p.m., was contained by Khlong Toei fire crews before it could spread to other parts of the 29-storey building, according to local authorities.

Emergency Response and Evacuation

Firefighters arrived promptly after smoke was observed billowing from a window on a middle floor of the hotel. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the fire confined to a single room on the 11th floor. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames, preventing further damage or risk to guests and staff.

“The fire was contained in time, preventing further damage or injuries,” officials confirmed in a statement. No casualties or injuries were reported, and all individuals were safely evacuated with the assistance of hotel security and emergency services.

Investigation and Safety Measures

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Initial findings have not yet established whether the incident was due to electrical faults, human error, or other factors, according to a report by KhaoSod. Firefighters remained on-site after the incident to ventilate smoke and conduct safety checks throughout the affected area.

Officials have called on hotels and high-rise buildings across Bangkok to review fire safety protocols and ensure that fire suppression systems are fully operational. Regular inspections and staff training are being emphasized as key priorities, particularly as the tourism sector continues to recover and occupancy rates rise.
