Prison Officer Shooting in Nakhon Ratchasima Leaves One Dead

Fatal Shooting Among Prison Officers in Nakhon Ratchasima

A shocking incident unfolds on the evening of October 4, 2025, in Nakhon Ratchasima. A prison officer shoots three colleagues inside a staff apartment, killing one and leaving two others in critical condition.

Police confirm all those involved work at the Nakhon Ratchasima Correctional Institution. The attack takes place around 8pm, directly opposite a well-known local restaurant in the city centre.

Officers respond within minutes of the emergency call. They arrive to find three seriously wounded staff members. Despite efforts from rescue teams, Mr Natthapong dies from his injuries at the hospital.

Long-Standing Dispute Turns Deadly

Early investigations suggest a simmering conflict between Mr Natthapong and Mr Wichit sparks the violence. Both are named as victims, along with Ms Trakul, another officer.

Police believe tensions between Mr Natthapong and Mr Wichit had been building for some time. “We are looking into the background of their dispute,” says a police spokesperson.

Paramedics rush the injured to hospital. Doctors describe the condition of Mr Wichit and Ms Trakul as critical. Their families wait anxiously for updates.

Crime Scene: Prison Apartment Near Sapphasit Road

The shooting takes place in a staff apartment linked to the prison, close to Sapphasit Road. Police secure the scene and begin collecting evidence.

Investigators interview witnesses and try to piece together the sequence of events. They focus on whether the shooting was premeditated or happened in the heat of the moment.

“There were previous arguments among the officers,” police confirm. They are not ruling out any possibilities as the investigation continues.

Victims and Suspect: Colleagues Caught in Tragedy

All three victims are colleagues from the Nakhon Ratchasima Correctional Institution. The tragedy is especially painful as Mr Natthapong and Mr Wichit were reportedly already in conflict before the shooting.

The police release the names of the victims, hoping for information from the public. The prison community is in shock. “We are devastated,” says a colleague. Families and staff are desperate for answers.

Motive Unclear in Nakhon Ratchasima Prison Shooting

The motive behind the shooting remains uncertain. Police are investigating whether personal issues, work-related stress, or other factors played a role.

Authorities say they are following every lead. “We are not excluding any possibilities,” investigators insist. The prison is cooperating closely with police to uncover the truth.

Nakhon Ratchasima now waits for answers, hoping such a tragedy will never happen again.
