Seven Family Members Die in Rayong Blaze as Neighbours Battle Flames

Horror as Deadly Fire Engulfs Rayong Homes

A peaceful night in Rayong turns into a nightmare as flames erupt just before dawn.

At around 4:30am on October 2, 2025, a raging fire sweeps through a residential area near the entrance to Pai 2, Soi 7, in Tha Pradu.

Three homes are caught in the blaze. One is completely gutted.

Inside, a family of seven—including a father, his son, and two tiny grandchildren aged just four and two—lose their lives. The devastation is total.

Shocking images show nothing but charred ruins where the family once lived.

Neighbours’ Heroic Rescue Attempt Ends in Heartbreak

As the fire rages, three neighbours rush in, desperate to save the trapped family.

They suffer burns and smoke inhalation for their efforts. All are rushed to Rayong Hospital for urgent treatment.

Despite their bravery, the family cannot be saved. The loss is overwhelming.

Police and forensic teams arrive quickly, searching for answers. The victims are taken to Rayong Hospital for autopsy before being released to their grieving relatives.

Grief and Shock Grip the Community

News of the tragedy spreads fast. The entire neighbourhood is shattered.

Residents gather in the street, many in tears. “We’re investigating every possible cause,” says one investigator. “It’s too early to draw conclusions, but our forensic team is collecting evidence.”

Police cordon off the area around Pai 2, Soi 7, as they inspect the damage and ensure the site is safe. The investigation is expected to last several days.

Thailand’s Ongoing Fire Crisis

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident.

Just days earlier, on September 25, a major fire broke out in a residential area on Sukhumvit Road, Bang Na, Bangkok. The blaze caused traffic chaos and triggered a massive emergency response.

Experts warn that many Thai homes lack proper fire safety measures. Electrical faults, gas leaks, and careless handling of flames are all common causes.

Were Building Regulations Followed?

Authorities now face tough questions.

In the coming days, officials will examine whether all building codes were followed—or if deadly oversights played a role.

For the families left behind, a period of mourning begins.

This tragedy will haunt Rayong for years to come—and stands as a stark reminder of the urgent need for better fire safety.
