Pattaya’s United Front: Police and Locals Win Top Anti-Drug Honour

Pattaya’s Proud Victory in the Fight Against Drugs

Pattaya is celebrating a major triumph in its relentless battle against drugs. The city’s Sustainable Sub-District Operations Unit and the Chumsai-Arunothai Community have just clinched the Outstanding Achievement Award for the fiscal year 2025.

This prestigious honour, handed down by the Royal Thai Police, recognises their outstanding efforts in tackling drug problems head-on.

United Effort Brings Results

At the heart of this success is Police Colonel Anek Srathongyoo, the determined chief of Pattaya City Police Station. Together with his dedicated team, he spearheads a sweeping anti-drug initiative.

Their project, boldly named “Sustainable Sub-District Project to Comprehensively Address Drug Issues in Line with National Strategy,” is already showing clear, measurable results.

But it’s not just the police who are involved. Local leaders and everyday citizens have joined forces, working side by side. This rare unity between authorities and residents proves crucial—delivering a real boost to safety across the city.

Top-Level Recognition

The award comes straight from the Royal Thai Police and the Provincial Police Region 2 Command. For everyone involved, it’s a moment of immense pride.

The ceremony shines a spotlight on the dedication, unity, and hands-on involvement of all parties in systematically preventing and fighting drug crime.

Among the honoured officers are Police Colonel Anek, his deputies Police Lieutenant Siriwat Khachamat, Police Lieutenant Suchat Dusadee, Police Lieutenant Suwinai Kuybamrung, and Police Captain Praw Onsom from the community service unit.

Safer Streets, Better Lives

Thanks to this joint effort, drug-related crime in the affected areas has dropped dramatically. Locals now enjoy greater peace, safety, and a noticeable lift in quality of life.

“This is proof that when officials and citizens work together, real change happens,” says one community leader. The award aims to inspire other Thai communities to launch similar initiatives.

Pattaya Sets the Standard

Could Pattaya’s story become a blueprint for the rest of Thailand? This award-winning model shows that even the toughest social problems can be tackled with teamwork and determination.

The Royal Thai Police hope this achievement will spark a wave of similar projects across the country. After all, the fight against drugs is a national mission—one that demands unity.

A New Chapter for Pattaya

This accolade isn’t the end. For Pattaya’s police and the Chumsai-Arunothai Community, it’s just the beginning. They vow to keep building on their success, pushing for even greater results.

Pattaya has proved that community spirit and official resolve can work wonders—and now, the whole nation is taking notice.
