Brazen Thief Swipes Woman’s Bag With 50,000 Baht Omega in Pattaya Bar

Night of Shock in Soi New Plaza

A 48-year-old woman’s dream night out in Pattaya turns into a nightmare. Ms. Thiwanant Thadong, visiting from Nong Khai, joins foreign friends at a lively bar in Soi New Plaza.

She places her brown shoulder bag on a wooden table, never suspecting danger. Inside, treasures: a black iPhone 12 Plus, an iPhone 11, 50 Euro in cash, and her pride—a gleaming Omega watch worth 50,000 Baht. Important personal documents complete the haul.

But as the clock nears 1:30am and the bar prepares to close, panic strikes. Her bag is gone. “I couldn’t believe it,” she later tells police, still in shock.

Masked Biker Caught on Camera

Security cameras capture the chilling moment. A tall man, face hidden behind a full-face helmet and mask, arrives on a motorcycle. He wears a long black shirt and black shorts—blending into the night.

He moves with ruthless speed. In a flash, he grabs the bag from the table and vanishes on his bike. The whole theft takes seconds. Police suspect a seasoned professional. “He knew exactly what he was doing,” an officer says.

Police Race Against Time

By 3:10am, Ms. Thiwanant files a report at Pattaya City Police Station. Police Lieutenant Thanasak Inphadung springs into action, launching a full investigation.

“We’re tracking the suspect’s escape route using nearby CCTV,” he explains. Officers hope the footage will reveal the thief’s identity and lead to a swift arrest.

There’s one crucial clue: the stolen Omega watch. With its unique serial number, selling it won’t be easy. “Luxury watches like these are often registered,” a police source notes. “It could trip him up.”

Warning for Pattaya Tourists

This brazen theft sends a chilling warning to all visitors. Even in busy bars, valuables are never truly safe. Thieves prey on the unsuspecting—especially in the city’s nightlife hotspots.

Experts urge tourists: leave valuables at the hotel, keep bags zipped, and never let them out of sight. “A single careless moment can cost you dearly,” warns a local guide.

What Happens Next?

The hunt is on. Police are determined to catch the masked thief before he strikes again. For Ms. Thiwanant, hope remains that at least some of her precious belongings will be recovered. Will justice be served—or will the thief slip away into the night?
